IEB: The Sinn Fein issue

Over the coming months there will be one question thrown to Bertie Ahern, Enda Kenny, Pat Rabbitte and Mary Harney alike; “will you go into government with Sinn Fein?”.
In previous elections the answer has always been a resounding ‘no’, and rightly so. In 2002 the IRA was still armed to the teeth and doing dodgy deals while the Northern Ireland Assembly, although in operation, was hanging on by its nails. Now, with a huge move from the last private army in the state and the liklihood of more to come in the next twelve months there is an ever increasing chance that that will change.
